A 3D Textured Geometry Data set is a generic container for 3D textured mesh data. It can be used for representing buildings, roads, vegetation and other data not suited to Terrain, Point Cloud or Photomesh.
3D Geometry can be imported directly into the Urban Engine via the FBX format. It can also be incorporated by Urban Circus into base models.
As this data type does not include automatic level of detail technology found in Terrains, Point Clouds and Photomeshes, special attention must be provided to polygon count, texture sizes and object count to ensure optimal performance. Polygon and texture requirements vary by use case. Please contact Urban Circus for more information on the suitability of your data.
Supported Data Formats and Types
Terrain with Imagery can be created using our model conversion pipeline from the following formats. Inclusion of data is subject to performance requirements which vary by use case. Note: All data sets must be geo-located in the same coordinate system as your model or at a known XYZ offset. If your data differs from the below requirements, contact Urban Circus.
- Type: 3D Geometry
- Geometry format: FBX
- Texture format: DDS
- Materials Supported:
- 3DS Max Standard Material
- Diffuse Texture only
- 3DS Max Standard Material
Many other forms of 3D Geometry can be accepted by Urban Circus, but may require modification or optimisation prior to model inclusion.
